Both courses follow the precise FOK diet philosophy which focuses on the techniques and methods needed to prepare a low-fat (no processed oils) and low-sodium diet (without salt). Our students range from beginners, new to cooking the FOK way to advanced learners interested in new methods and flavor profiles to enhance their dishes.
Both courses grant you lifetime access to the material! Once the class opens (you don't have to start on opening day), you have access to the entire course content to work on at your own pace from any internet device.
The Forks Over Knives Ultimate course is by far our most popular. Since its inception, over 16,000 students are currently in the course or have graduated. There are no specific days or times that you are required to be online and no specific due dates for the optional assignments. The self-paced nature of the course fits in nicely for busy students since they can learn around their work and travel schedules, even vacations.
While not mandatory, you may choose to earn the Forks Over Knives Ultimate Plant-Based Certificate of Completion by completing the course within 90 days. Our instructional team of chef educators evaluate your assignments, providing feedback and encouragement. On average, students spend 5-7 hours per week to stay on track. If you find yourself running behind, you can pay a nominal fee to complete the course and earn your certificate.
After you graduate or the 90 days expire (whichever comes first), the only areas locked will be the quizzes, instructor-graded assignments, and the Question & Support function. Other than that, you will still have all the lessons, recipes, etc. to review at your leisure.
If you don't care about earning the certificate, you can still learn a lot from the course. You are free to simply explore the content, watch the videos, and access the recipes and live events at your leisure. You don't have to upload assignments or take quizzes if you don't want to.
Forks Over Knives Essentials is a 20-hour course. It is perfect for people who want access to healthy cooking technique instruction but don't have the time or inclination to take a full course. It has no deadline for completion and assignments are completely optional. You will learn how to prepare more than 25 whole-food, plant-based recipes over the course of 5 units and 20 lessons.
