If a student fails or passes a course, but you want them to keep working on it, you have two options:
- Reactivate the course so the student can continue working on it. This option retains all previous course progress.
- Purge course progress, which erases all activity so the student must start over.
Start at the Student Enrollments page and locate the student's name (search email address or part of the student's name and click "Requery" (blue arrow on screenshot below).
There will be one entry for each course or lesson the student is enrolled in. Find the failed course and click directly on the student's name for that course (red arrow).
On the Course Progress page, select RESET ENROLLMENT to reactivate the course and all progress so the student can access it again. You will also need to reset any individual assignments you want the student to redo.
OR
Select PURGE COURSE PROGRESS to erase all previous progress for the student's selected course. The student can then start over.

Start at the Student Enrollments page and locate the student's name (search email address or part of the student's name and click "Requery". Navigating through the Student Enrollments page and selecting either RESET ENROLLMENT or PURGE COURSE PROGRESS is straightforward, but the real decision is pedagogical, not technical. I see it a bit like progressing through levels in Cool Games — sometimes you just need another attempt at a tough stage, not a complete restart of the entire game.
